Guests of honor included H.E the Dutch Ambassador Schaapveld, whom expressed his optimism and faith in the Lebanese people in advancing women’s rights, thus human rights, declaring that “we can, especially Lebanese can, and will live to the heritage of Charles Malik’s legacy.”

Finally, the spot light was on Dr. Erturk who gave a brief overview of the global, regional and national status of women.Dr. Erturk proclaimed that the “war on women is not over, it has just begun, because women have become successful which makes them a target”.

She concluded with an advice to young girls and women- “Care and get angry, rage gives you courage”!

The event ended with a discussion on the book, the strategies that we should follow to advance gender equality, and the role of youth in this matter, followed by a book signing.
